Attitute of Perfection!!!

One Aspect of our psyche is the feeling that everything should be perfect. We should be perfect, our parents should be perfect, our siblings and friends and our world should be perfect.

Purn madhay purn midham
puranth purn mudhachatey
purnasya purn maadhaayey
purnmevavashishyatey

The sanskrit phrase when translated would mean:

This is perfect that is perfect. When we take the perfect from perfect, what remains is perfect.

In the world created by God, everything is perfect. It is only our perception of how things should be that makes it imperfect. And that is where our anger at imperfections begin. Order wise, we have Land, Water, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Carbon Monoxide, Food in plenty, but then we need transport, designer shoes, Clothes and watches, refrigerators, cars and Ac's, different foods in restaurants. And if our mothers provide us with almost everything and only one is missing, we blow our tops. We are hopping mad. We call them all sort of things and stress them and ourselves.

The question is, why can't we accept our world the way it is?

Why must we change it? We should change ourselves for the better instead and our worlds will change with us.

To begin with, most couples pine for children. When children are born, the same couples start comparing them with other people's children. And in split second, they find host of aspects which they couls change. Did God promise every parent a beaty queen or Buddha? A wife like Saraswathi or a husband like Ram? A man or a woman marries accepting everything about the partner. But the very next day, he finds that the wife snores, applies mascara, doesnt know how to cook well. So does the wife discover hundred things about her husband which she like to change as of yeterday!!!!

Why can't we accept things as they are? Actually we should. If you don't keep your expectations too high, your stress levels will be fine.

Its easy for me to say things out of its own but still trying up my level best to keep my expectations down!! a cryptic thing i would like to possess of my own!!!

Script of life is not prewritten and you have the convenience of scripting things in your life!!!

Being Effective Vs Being Efficient

Effectiveness is doing the things that get you closer to your goals. Efficiency is performing a given task (whether important or not) in the most economical manner possible. Being efficient with-out regard to effectiveness is default mode of the universe.

I would consider the best door-to-door salesperson effecient - that is, refined and excellent at selling door-to-door without wasting time - but utterly ineffective. He or she would sell more using a better vehicle such as e-mil or direct mail.

This is also true for the person who checks email 30 times per day and develops an elaborate system of folder rules and sophisticated techniques for ensuring that each of those 30 brain farts moves as quickly as possible. I was a specialist at such professional wheel-spinning. It is effecient on some perverse level, but far from effective.

Here are two truisms to keep in mind:
  1. Doing something unimportant well does not make it important.
  2. Requiring a lot of time does not make a task important.
From this moment forward, remember this: What you do is infinitely more important than how you do it. Efficiency is still important, but it is useless unless applied to right things.
To find the right things, we'll need to go to the garden.
